Halloween Time is approaching

Halloween is approaching.  Make sure you send out your invitations to a ghoulish party with enough notice so that others don’t take your date.

On a related note, the 4th book in the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer comes out Saturday at 12:01 am.  If you haven’t picked up her first novel Twilight then I would suggest you do.  I read the first three novels (each over 500 pages) in about 2 weeks.  And then I got 3 office co-workers hooked on it!

Having parties all the time is tons of fun, but don’t forget to read, learn and enjoy simple pleasures.  A friendly reminder from Windy City Novelties, Inc.

Light Up Ice Cubes

Sit back, relax, go outside with a nice tall glass of Iced tea and enjoy the evening.  Just remember to add a lite up ice cube (litecube) to make sure you can find your glass in the beautiful cool evening…

Wait, you don’t know what a lite up ice cube is?  Oh man, and here I am enjoying the coolest drinks around, not only because they taste grea,t but because the drink literally lights up from my glowing ice cube.

A lite up ice cube is exactly what the name implies.  It looks like an ice cube, and even cools your drink down (if you put it in the freezer before hand) but the real impressive part comes from turning it on!  Press the button on the bottom before inserting the lite up ice cube in your drink to choose from 3 settings:

  1. Fast blink
  2. Slow blink
  3. Steady on

I’ve gotten some questions in the past about the safety of putting this in your drinks.  Let me tell you a few things:  These are made out of the highest-quality components.  They are FDA certified for food use (that’sdice cubes Light Up Ice Cubes because they are completely sealed).  Their battery has no connection with anything outside of the plastic encasement, and can only be activated by a secured, rubber, water-tight plunger on the bottom.

What’s also great is that they are available in a variety of shapes and sizes, allowing you to customize your own special event.  Throwing a big game party?  Then use our Football-shaped Lite up ice cubes.  We also have stars, dice, golf ball and traditional shaped lite up ice cubes.

Fusion Badges

Fusion badges
are sweeping the nation! Well, not literally, but they are darn cool!  Right now you should be thinking to yourself… “WOW awesome!” “Where do I get them?” “Can I buy tons for me and my friends!!!?”  I did say what you should be saying.  Instead you’re probably saying, “What is a Fusion Badge?”

The answer is right here.  A Fusion badge is the newest light-up accessory.  It’s literally a medallion that you wear around your neck and it lights up in different patterns.  What’s great about them also is that the large circular center leaves a huge spot for personalization!

I’ve seen people use them as name badges, team identifiers for night sports, and even as picture frames to light up the image!  These things are really cool.  The pictures don’t always do them justice so here’s a Fusion Badge video clip.

How are our prices so low

0
by on July 22, 2008 at 8:42 am

I’ve been asked how our prices are so low in comparison to local party shops and other online retailers.  While there are lots of answers to this question I’ll stick to the main points:

  1. We buy in bulk, now when I say bulk I mean by the container loads. Those big semi-trailers driving down the highway? There’s a good chance they’re coming to us.
  2. We have a lower overhead then traditional party stores since they have to maintain a high rent in a retail market.  They also have to worry about items being stolen from their stores.
  3. Volume selling. Most of our items are packaged by the dozen, 2 dozen, or gross, this allows us to reduce the price to the consumer while still eking out a profit.  Many times, our dozen price is the same that a party store would charge you for 3 or 4 of the item (seriously, go check).

The next question is always: What about your quality? Do you sacrifice it to give us lower prices?

NO. We don’t. This is a family run business and we sell to families.  If an item comes in that we don’t think we would have at one of our own birthday parties or celebrations, it doesn’t even make it into our warehouse. Simple as that.

That being said we do sometimes sell these substandard items in our CLOSEOUT section or the Some Do Some Don’t section, both of which clearly state what the reason for the firesale on the items.
