Happy Administrative Professional Day!

Administrative Professionals’ Day, Secretaries Day, Admin Day, whatever you want to call it, that day is today! It’s a day that serves to recognize the people who hold those positions in our offices. Without them, we’d all be lost in our everyday work.

Every year it is celebrated on the last Wednesday in April. They first started celebrating in 1952 and the goal was to recognize people in those positions because everyone in the office always depended on their skills, loyalty and efficiency with the business to make every run smoothly. It was also to bring attention to the career itself and encourage others to take on those positions at all companies.

Nowadays, companies recognize and celebrate people in these positions with gifts of flowers, candy, lunch or time off. Some have events within their office such as parties for them that the entire company comes to celebrate. Either way you decide to do it, it will be a great reorganization of all of their hard work they have done and continue to do.
