Spring break is coming

LED, decorations, dress-up, safety, vending No Comments

For all our younger fans out there, or those with children, Spring Break is fast approaching.  And with that we here at The Party FAQ have a few suggestions on much needed items to help you make the most out of your fun:lighted-flip-flops

First up are our Light Up Flip Flops, these things are awesome.  Wear them at night and every time you step you create a magical light show.  Or better yet if you’re an enterprising person buy a whole ton of them and sell them on the beach, and make a killing!

tri-color-led-glitter-ballNext are our BRAND NEW Lighted glitter balls.  These things are HOT! shake the ball and you’ll see the glitter spin around.  Bounce the ball and you’ll get the glitter and BRIGHT LED’s illuminating not only the ball but off the glitter also.  This feeble description doesn’t do it justice, they are extremely neat and addicting.  So much so in fact that we’ll be creating a new youtube video on them.

luminariasLast but not least are our LED luminarias.  Create a lighted path to your beach home or hotel with these great items.  If you’re an arts and crafts family then you can decorate them as well!

All these items and more are available online at Windy City Novelties, Inc.

Rules to Drinking

barware, dress-up, drink ware, house party No Comments

Rules to Drinking, a guide on the social expectancies when drinking with friends:

  1. Clean yourself up and look nice, no one wants to go out with someone who hasn’t shaved or run a brush through their hair (or mouth for that matter).
  2. Drink plenty of water before going out, dehydrating yourself with Alcohol will only get you into trouble later.
  3. Eat something before going out, this will save you money from food at a restaurant and can help keep you from getting sick from your drinks.
  4. Be lively and fun, but not rude, you’re going out to meet up with people.  You don’t want to annoy them as soon as you see them.
  5. Remember the adage:  Liquor before Beer you’re in the clear, Beer before Liquor you’ve never been sicker…
  6. Don’t refuse a free drink from a friend, but make sure to buy rounds also
    1. BUT politely refuse a drink from a stranger, especially if you didn’t see it pored.   No reason to make some poor guy / girl buy you a drink when you’re not into them at all.  Plus it can be dangerous if you don’t know whats in it.
  7. Don’t overdo the drinking… Contrary to public belief there is more where that came from so don’t feel the need to drink it all at once.
  8. Take breaks and alternate to non-alcoholic drinks (remember rule #2, water is key)
  9. Drinking games can be fun, but they can also make you go way past your limit.
  10. Know your limit and stop before you go to far.
  11. Goggles are for swimming, stop before you can’t see straight or when you judgment gets clouded.
    1. A good way to tell if your judgment is off picture your grandmother / grandfather if they look attractive to you in any way then you’re way past the point of making sense.
  12. Always leave when your friends do, if they think its late enough to leave then it is.
    1. Friends you just met tonight don’t count, NEVER leave with someone you just met at a bar.  Get their number and meet up some other time (see rule #11 on judgment)
  13. If you spill a drink while bringing it to your lips, its time to put it down and go home.
  14. Always finish the night with plenty of water, this is the number one thing that will stave off hangovers.

Decorate your car and home for a racing party

decorations, dress-up, party decorations, themed party No Comments

Today’s kids love CARS, and racing inspired parties! But whether they be a Porsche 911 turbo or Mom’s Volvo station wagon they still have to abide by safety laws!  What better way to symbolize this then by putting an inflatable stop light in the middle of your next Daytona or NASCAR party!

Or if you want you can decorate your home in the ultimate of fan’s street signs, those of the cherished raceways and famous landmarks that define racing for what it is.

Lastly in this post if you love your car and love to make people smile when you drive by then this car decoration is the perfect fit for you.

Simply attach Rudolph’s nose and antlers to any car to make Santa’s sleigh look like a thing of the past.  Now your Jetta or Ford Taurus can be delivering holiday gifts and cheer faster then you could sing “Silent Night”

Tie-dyes are back in, but forget the leisure suits

costume, dress-up No Comments

Tie-dye shirts are way in right now.  Whether they be used as party giveaways or just to help your group find eachother in a crowd.  It seems like they’re more popular now then back when Hendrix wasn’t known and Denver was only a city’s name… Oh the good old days…

But I digress, tie-dye is a great memorable goody-bag item that leaves a lasting impression to everyone who came to your event!

your hair needs a new look

chemical reaction, costume, dress-up, glow, halloween, imagination No Comments

I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this… but your hair just isn’t up to Halloween standards.  It’s not scary, or funky, or even different; it’s just the same it has always been… blah.

But that doesn’t have to be the case! No, you can spice up your hair with little effort on you!  Two awesome products can completely save your hair from a social faux pas at the next Halloween or dress up party.

First up is colored hair spray.  Benefits:

  1. Quick easy application (you literaly shake, open, and spray)
  2. Mulitple color options (Silver, Purple, Red, Blue, Green, and Orange)
  3. You can use the same spray over and over or share with friends

Drawbacks:

  1. If you’re in a dark place it won’t show up well
  2. Not the newest thing, don’t expect to be the only one with colored hair

Next up iGlow hair gel.  A quick explanation: iGlow is the a hair gel that glows in the dark, it doesn’t need light, or blacklights or anything like that, its literally like a glowstick version of gel, it glows bright on its own for about 6-8 hours!

Benefits:

  1. Extremely cool effect of walking around with glowing hair
  2. New, you’re not going to see anyone else with this!
  3. Comes in GREEN, BLUE, RED, YELLOW, PURPLE, ORANGE and WHITE
  4. You can use some of it now, and some of it later (so long as you only mix what you plan on using for that evening
  5. If you’re a Halloween or party shop you can also purchase them in retail displays!

Drawbacks:

  1. You will get tons of looks, so only use if you like being the center of attention or being the cool kid at the party.
  2. A little bit more expensive then spray
  3. Takes more time to apply (about 5-8 minutes, depending on how much you like to style your hair)

Both items can be found at Windy City Novelties, Inc.

Fusion Badges

LED, dress-up, imagination, jewelry, light-up 1 Comment

Green Fusion Badge in ActionFusion badges are sweeping the nation! Well not literally but they are darn cool!  Right now you should be thinking to yourself… “WOW awesome!”, “Where do I get them?”, “Can I buy tons for me and my friends!!!?”.  I did say what you should be saying.  Instead you’re probably saying “What is a Fusion Badge?”

Red Fusion Badge in ActionWell the answer is right here.  A Fusion badge is the newest light up accessory.  It’s literally a medallion that you wear around your neck and it lights up in different patters.  What’s great about them also is that the large circular center leaves a huge spot for personalization!

I’ve seen people use them as name badges, team identifiers for night sports, and even as picture frames to light up the image!  These things are really cool.  The pictures don’t always do them justice so here’s a video clip as well:
